COVID-19 and Salon Policies
In Effect Until Further Notice
Masks must be worn at all times. Please let me know if you need a mask. I have limited masks available. Hand sanitizer will be provided upon entering my suite. You can wear gloves into the building, but I ask you to take them off and either use the hand sanitizer I have provided, or wash your hands in my sink. This is the safest policy for you and myself
If you have recently been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the past 21 days, fever of over 99.9, cough, shortness of breath, or generally feel unwell, you are required to reschedule. If you are currently waiting on COVID-19 results or under self quarantine, please notify me as soon as possible to reschedule. If you have had COVID-19 and have not been re-tested negative again, please reschedule. Due to current state mandates on quarantining, if you have recently traveled outside of the state to a region with rising COVID-19 cases or outside of the country within the past two weeks, please reschedule after the Massachusetts recommended 14 day quarantine period is up.
Please DO NOT be untruthful about these policies. If you are, and end up testing positive, I will need to shut down my business for two weeks while I quarantine myself away from my family due to contact tracing. You will also put others in danger and you may also be required to quarantine as well. If you exhibit any symptoms while in your appointment, a temperature reading will be taken by a touch-less thermometer to check for a fever.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT:
When you arrive for your appointment, please stay in your car and text me at 781-799-4308 and I will let you know when you can safely enter the building. The doors will be locked and there is no waiting in the hallway or my suite. I will meet you out front and let you in once I text you back.
Only client scheduled for appointment is allowed in. At this time there is no spouses, children, or other persons allowed to be in the building with you.
Please bring as little with you as possible. Just phone, wallet and/or payment, if possible.
CANCELLATIONS / NO-SHOWS:
No-show appointments will be charged the full service cost to rebook. Please call, text, or log-in to your Vagaro account to cancel at least three hours prior to your scheduled appointment time to allow me adequate time to fill in the appointment. No exceptions will be made.
Please call or text if you will be late. I’ll be adding an extra cleaning protocols. If you are late, the timing of your appointment will be adjusted accordingly and you may not be able to receive your full service appointment. Full original cost of appointment will still be charged. No exceptions will be made.
I will be providing blow dry services if asked, but if you are immunocompromised or nervous about being in close contact for the duration of the blow dry, I suggest no blow dry and leaving with damp hair. A blow dry is always complementary with your haircut and there is no price change for no blow dry.
Please note that by booking an appointment at Katie Shaw Hair Studio, you are assuming all risk and liability related to COVID-19 exposure. By working together we can keep everyone safe and healthy and all have beautiful hair!
